Exploring the Interconnectedness of Spirituality, Leadership and Business
Intentional Connection
As a business person and a leader I think that I have spent most of my leadership in my head. By this I mean that, although I acknowledge that I am a spiritual being with a soul, housed in a body, I have allowed my soul and body to control me. In last month’s newsletter I spoke about how we are spirit and how we connect to the spirit realm. The unfortunate thing is that
I don’t use my spirit very often to connect to God when dealing with challenging situations at work. We use our heads and when we do that we are using our soulish connection. Which means we are allowing our feelings and what we think or can reason out to guide us. And I would suggest that the conditions in the world today are because we have not connected with God but with our soul which has been conditioned to perceive things from the dark aspect of this world. Our souls are not able to provide long term solutions, only our spirit can because our spirit can connect to the eternal.
The only way that we are going to be able to transform the world for good is if we decide to intentionally connect to God. And for those who may say “well I don’t believe in God” I would challenge you to go to a quiet place and ask Him if He is and listen to what you hear on the inside of you. He will respond and you will know that He is real. Anyway, what I want to say is that we need more people in business, in a position of leadership to connect to God so we can get directions on how we are to transform our society so it is less violent and full of hate. It seems like we are becoming more divided and separated each day and divided we fall, united we stand.
The last couple of years almost justified our being hateful towards people. We were guided towards creating an ‘us’, ‘them’ scenario which caused greater division and greater pain for mankind. We were being motivated by fear. Fear of death. The only way we can transform our environment is to connect to God and see things as He sees them. When we do that we will not be full of fear and we will come to an understanding of who we are and what we have been put on this earth to do. I don’t know what the future holds but I do know that if we continue down the road of creating groups that are pitted against each other we will not end up in a good place. The good book tells us that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. I challenge you to intentionally choose not to partner with him in his desire for mankind. Check your thoughts and actions.
We have been created to live a full life that blesses others and brings peace and joy into a situation. As leaders that is our responsibility. To create an environment where everyone can be who they were created to be in the eyes of God. This summer as you enjoy the world we have been placed in connect with God and learn what He has for you.
Blessings,
Sunday
